A Creative Journey

RedEarth Spirit Growing up surrounded by the rich cultural heritage of northern New Mexico, Gloria Valencia was influenced from a young age by the myriad artistic styles and designs found in everything from the architectural forms of the pueblos to the beauty and craftsmanship of the jewelry. I was surrounded by incredible, phenomenal jewelry... Whether it was worn everyday, or special pieces worn only during ceremony, the cultural legacy and artistic stories behind the jewelry itself has always spoken to me.

Glorias creations are greatly influenced by her Yaqui and Spanish blood lines, and that influence is clearly depicted in the jewelry that she makes.

Gloria began her artistic journey shortly after moving to Canadas west coast where she did a 4-year apprenticeship with a silversmith from Argentina. In 1998 she opened her own studio, RedEarth Spirit, and began developing her unique jewelry designs.

In May 2013, Gloria moved back to New Mexico. She opened a studio/retail space in Old Town, Albuquerque where she continues to create her one of a kind pieces.
